About Us
Who We Are.
We are Jeska & Dean Hearne, husband & wife, adventure seekers, photographers, the owners of two mischievous cats, and creators of The Future Kept.
Since 2014 The Future Kept has been part of a new adventure on our journey through life together, as a duo our backgrounds and almost 20 years of experience is varied, we are photographers and stylists, but have also collaborated and worked in the fields of interior, graphic and product design, writing, and brand development.
The Future Kept started with a fascination and desire that we've both had for a long time, to seek out beautiful and useful items for life and the home that are made with love, thoughtfulness and detail. Items with timeless qualities created by people with a passion for what they do, and a care for the future of the world we live in.
Our primary goal with The Future Kept is to inspire more people to think carefully about the items they have in their lives, by putting together a collection of beautifully designed handmade products from honest origins all with a story to tell.

The Future Kept is a collection of consciously crafted, responsibly and ethically sourced products for your home, and living a more eco-friendly sustainable lifestyle.
Nestled on the south coast of England, we design and collaborate with independent designers, makers and artisans who are creating products that are better for our world, becoming part of your life story, forming an intimacy between you and your belongings, to cherish and keep.
We provide quality goods with an honest provenance that we use in our day-to-day lives, items made to last that will not fuel the throwaway nature of the modern world, heirlooms of the future. We hope to inspire a curiosity and desire within people to make more sustainable and ethical choices.
Creating and seeking beautifully considered, functional items for others to enjoy is our passion, by sharing these items that we celebrate, we aim to connect and form relationships with like-minded folk, whilst having a positive impact on the environment.

A strange message for a shop to give, you may be thinking, but we want to promote a lifestyle of appreciating and cherishing the items you choose to have in life, keeping them to pass down through generations and holding onto them for as long as possible. When choosing consumable products that are not designed to last a lifetime, we look for items that are made with love and care and do not harm the environment.

Small run, handmade, artisan and vintage products offer a beauty that is tactile and to be celebrated. Unique markings on products like this can show the makers touch, or the wear of time making each piece unique.

Some people put a lot more thought, time and love into the items they create. We spend our time carefully seeking and developing products that fit a few simple criteria, they need to be durable, quality made with a simplistic, sustainable and ethical approach. Products that stand the test of time, that will age well, using the best materials and are not destined to end up in a landfill.

This means every time you purchase from us, 1% of the total value of your order goes directly to help an environmental cause.
Accountability and Ethics.
While we both take the upmost care when choosing items for the store, how we live, and conducting our business in as ethical, and sustainable way as possible, we never want to stop learning and doing better, to use our small influence and this store to be force for good.We are aware of fundamental issues and problems that have been facing people and the planet throughout history, that now, thanks to strong and brave individuals, are part of an ongoing and developing conversation which is helping us all to learn about many of the basic human rights that we are not all afforded and how inclusion, respect and fairness is not a given to everyone. We are continually learning, growing and hope to be part of a loving and compassionate awakening across the planet, as larger companies, big corporations or those in power will never ever lead the way, so we have to.
Our mission is to embrace the beauty and protection of our planet, the inclusion and respect of all humans, cultures and creatures.
