Openhouse Magazine Issue 9

Issue 9 of Openhouse - A Woman's Touch. Called “A Woman’s Touch” for the strong and inspiring women they have met along the way.

Two new sections, Curators and People, tell stories of Spanish pioneers of fashion and photography, Rosa Orrantia and Joana Biarnés. In the deserts of New Mexico, visit the stunning home and studio of iconic American painter Georgia O’Keeffe. Then cross the seas to Thread, a cultural centre in the heart of Senegal, whose team is changing socio-economic dynamics in a small village called Sinthian, by helping to initiate and support the first association of women. Entrepreneur, Alex Carro's home and travel to Portugal and Italy for Casa Mãe and Casa Canvas. A love of collecting, past and present in Kettle’s Yard in Cambridge and Gallery Valerie Traan in Antwerp, finishing up the issue with a personal tour with César Cervantes, and his home Casa Pedregal by Luis Barragán.

Openhouse Magazine is a twice-yearly publication, that visits creative people from around the world, who open their homes or private spaces to the public, celebrating different activities in gastronomy, art and design.

All articles are published in English and the language of the interviewee. 

Openhouse was started by Andrew Trotter and Mari Luz Vidal, working alongside a small team of collaborators of designers, writers and photographers from around the world. 144 pages filled with beautiful photography, interesting interviews of people who open special places around the world that the reader can visit and join in with the activities.
