One Second of Light

A humbling and moving book that shows us moments from peoples lives, many of them impacted by past wars or conflicts. Rather than using images to shock and divide, Giles Duley chooses to focus his camera on the things that unite us. We have been lucky enough to call Giles a friend for some time now, being in his presence is one of the most uplifting and motivating experiences, a captivating soul that leaves you knowing that we can all, and should, do more for others with the lives that we have been given.

Giles captures the simplest and most intimate moments we all share, preparing a meal, a childs first day at school, washing the dishes, holding a loved one, people and moments given a powerful voice through his lens, offering us an tiny millisecond insight into those caught within these stories, forming an empathetic connection with the paper held in your hands, creating a better understanding of those whose time and suffering is a constant.
