From taking a breath to taking a sabbatical, a pause can be many things. The good news is, even just a small pause every now and again can make a real and lasting difference.
About the Author -
Robert Poynton lives in an off-grid, solar-powered house just outside the small town of Arenas de San Pedro in rural Spain. By way of contrast, he also spends a significant amount of time in Oxford, where he is an Associate Fellow of the Saïd Business School at the University of Oxford. His work there is practical not academic — he designs and runs executive education programmes, helping senior leaders understand and work with complex change, via a playful approach developed from improvisational theatre. Many of his friends regard his entire career as one long pause. He is also the author of Do Improvise (Do Books, 2013).
The Do Book Company is an independent publishing house based in Shoreditch, London, producing inspirational guidebooks.
Each book is fairly short, about 100 pages, as it focuses on the ‘doing’ rather than the background theory. Concise, practical, visually striking guides that make it easier to Do stuff.
Each book is written by speakers from the Do Lectures, an annual event held in West Wales and California, whose ideas have inspired others to go and Do. Their aim is to recreate that same positive change in book form – whether that’s the mastery of a new skill or craft, a simple mind-shift, or a shot of inspiration to help you get started.
They hope you like their books and find them useful - keep reading and doing!
