Over 1 billion plastic toothbrushes are thrown away worldwide every year. These end up in landfill, in the sea affecting marine wildlife, or washed up on a beach. Truthbrush reinvests a majority of their profits back into the business furthering their mission to reduce single-use plastic waste. Using a bamboo toothbrush with a biodegradable handle is a small change that can make a big difference for the planet.
CARE: The brushes come with soft (as recommended by dentists) or medium bristles, which are castor oil-based to care for your teeth and gums.
Dentists recommend that you replace your toothbrush every 3 months if you feel that's time. Although the Truthbrush lasts much longer so keep using as long as you feel it's working. After use, please don’t leave standing in water!
When finished with, you can pull out the bristles with a pair of pliers and re-use the Truthbrush in any creative way you can (we leave ours intact and use them for household cleaning in awkward places).
Plant labels and paint stirrers are just a couple of examples of how you can give your Truthbrush a second life. Alternatively, to dispose of your toothbrush, please place in your ordinary bin. Over time, all but the bristles will biodegrade, leaving no residue.
The Truthbrush came from a wish for a toothbrush that was beautiful and luxurious as well as biodegradable. The rounded ergonomic handle is crafted from sustainable, organic bamboo which is naturally anti-bacterial.
The brushes are made in China - the natural habitat of bamboo. Moso bamboo grows up to a metre a day there as it has the perfect conditions to thrive. We know that shipping to Europe has a carbon footprint, although the amount is tiny for each brush. This is why Thruthbrush have chosen to carbon offset shipping both from China to us and from us to you.
Truthbrush work with a small newly built, family-run factory in China, paying a fair wage, the factory is inspected regularly and recently won the Veggie Award Health & Wellbeing category.
