Made using only 100% pure and natural soy wax, essential and fragrance oils, cotton wicks and beautiful apothecary style, recyclable amber glass jars.
Ludic began its journey in the back room of a little tea merchant on the coast of The New Forest. Tea blender Jo began to branch out from her usual tea leaves, tinkering with waxes and essential oils, and – in between pots of tea – gradually created a range of candles inspired by her daily walks in the forest.
To be in nature, to slow down, to breathe; these are things that Ludic and Jo hold most dear. Every hand-poured candle is created with natural soy wax and gently blended with essential oils and scent, inspired by the people, places and folklore of The New Forest.
Candle Safety: 1. The first time you light your candle, let it burn for long enough to allow the wax to melt fully across the top. This will help prevent ‘tunnelling’ and will help set your candle on the path to success.
2. Always stand your candle on a heatproof surface away from drafts, hanging fabrics, pets, children, and anything flammable. And be sensible, don’t leave a burning candle unattended.
3. Keep your candles more than 1 inch apart while lit.
4. When your candle is getting towards the bottom of the jar don’t allow it to burn all the way down to the base.
But it can still be a useful companion – stand the jar with the last bit of wax in the bottom in some hot water until you can free it. Give the jar a good wash et voila! You now have a useful jar to put things in.
Storing Candles
Candles are a finely tuned combination of wax, fragrance, and essential oils, and as such can be rather sensitive to changes in heat and light. Keep your candles stored somewhere cool and dry away from glaring sunlight. If you plan on keeping your candle for a long time, Jo recommends storing it away in a cool cupboard.
If your candle is out in the heat for a long time, you may see the wax looking a little ‘sweaty’. It's okay, this is normal when they get too warm and won’t affect how your candle performs. Simply blot the wax with a paper towel and you’re good to go.
Equally, don’t let your candles get too cold. If it has been out in the freezing cold for a long time, allow it to come up to room temperature before lighting it.
